E-mail Your Health Reform Questions to MedBen

MedBen is currently reviewing information about the recently passed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (the “PPACA”) and will soon provide clients with a analysis that summarizes our impressions. We will also be holding several MedBen Universities over the coming weeks to review PPACA provisions with our clients and offer plan guidance.

If you’ve been reading about the PPACA in newspapers, MedBen e-briefs and this blog, you are no doubt aware of its enormity and its potential financial impact on employers. You also may have noticed that the language in the Act is sometimes unclear and open to (possibly deliberate) interpretation – the upshot being that it raises as many questions as it answers.

In order to help you better navigate the vagaries of the PPACA, MedBen has set up a special e-mail address to handle client concerns. Simply send your inquries to healthreformquestions@medben.com, and we will be happy to respond with our thoughts on the subject.

Along the same lines, we’d like to offer clients an opportunity to get input from people who had a hand in writing the legislation. On April 14-16, MedBen Vice President Of Administrative Operations Lori Kane will attend the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA) Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. SPBA is a national association of third party administrators that shares business strategies and legislative insights among its membership. At the meeting, several of the federal staffers charged with writing the original bill’s language are expected to be in attendance. If you have a question you want Lori to ask on your behalf, please send it to healthreformquestions@medben.com no later than Tuesday, April 13 at 2:00 EST, and she will do her best to get you an answer.
